Walking along the stone wall of Deoksugung Palace, you can easily spot the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) at the first three-way intersection you reach. The museum is a pleasant resting place for urban workers during lunchtime. The museum has two more branches in Seoul. The Gyeonghuigung Annex was built in the palace compound in 1994 to celebrate the 600th anniversary of Seoul. Nam Seoul Annex is located near Sadang Station 사당역 (Line 4). It used to be the Belgium Legation and reopened as it is in 2004.
Beaux arts, the in-house bakery café, sits on the third floor.
At the art shop on the second floor, you can shop for various art books and items with art prints on them.
Ongoing exhibitions include Gauguin and After: Voyage into the Myth, which will run through Sept 29 at the headquarters, and Chang Eung-Bok’s Boutique Hotel, Peach Blossom Dream which will continue till Aug 4 at the Nam Seoul branch.
