Great article. I found it via reddit's korea subreddit. Apparently these night markets are spreading across the country...I live in Daegu where the biggest (not really all that traditional but kind of still) market Seomun Shijang started it night market I guess it was a little over a year ago and it is busy every night..pretty much focussed on food, and judging by your article here, it is far bigger with way more choices of food than anything in Seoul...probably around 100 different vendors with all kinds of fusion, foreign, and some korean items, all freshly made to order. They also have some entertainment and other odds and ends...if you get there early enough you could even do some actual shopping. Seomun market has a history of something like 400 years (probably much longer in fact) and to this day sees a lot of commerce for clothing, fabrics, household goods, foods, and more, and is locally famous for lunchtime foods too...many Daegu citizens and tourists come there every day and it is always crowded.
